  • What time does the show start?
Please check the time on your ticket for the exact show start time. The box office opens 90 minutes before the show begins, allowing you time to get a drink, visit the merchandise stand and find your seats before the performance starts.
  • What can I expect at a Burlesque show?
Our Burlesque show is a world of vintage glamour! If you've never been to a Burlesque show before, it's important to consider the striptease element of Burlesque, which may include implied nudity - as performers skilfully blend humour, sensuality, and storytelling to entertain and captivate the audience through vintage tease. Please note that given the nature of the performance, our show is intended for mature audiences aged 18 and over.
  • How long does the show run for?
The total run time is approximately two hours including a twenty minute interval.
  • How can I book my tickets?
Tickets can be booked through Ticketmaster online or via the theatre box office. All links can be found in the BOOK NOW section on our website.
  • Is the show suitable for audiences under 18 years old?
No, the show is not suitable for audiences under 18 years of age. Our burlesque performances contain adult themes, suggestive content and partial nudity intended for mature audiences. Given the nature of the show and to adhere to our 18+ age restriction, we do not permit babes in arms at our performances.
  • I'm having problems with my ticket. Who do I contact?
If you encounter any trouble with your ticket, please contact the theatre box office for assistance.
  • Is there a group discount available?
Yes. We offer a group discount if booking ten or more tickets. Please contact the theatre box office when making your booking.
  • Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes. Shimmery offers gift vouchers that can be used on any Shimmery item including tickets, merchandise and costumes. Please email shimmery@burlesquemelbourne.com for all gift voucher enquiries.
  • What happens if I'm late to the show?
Latecomers may be admitted during suitable breaks in the performance to minimise disruptions to other guests. You may be seated in an area away from the seats that you originally booked. This is at the theatre staffs discretion.
  • How should the audience behave at a Burlesque show?
Audiences are encouraged to cheer and engage with the performers throughout the show. The louder the audience is, the more fun the audience and performers will have. Burlesque is a call and response performance, we strongly encourage audiences to make some noise. However, we still expect respect for our performers and those around you. Any disruptive nature will result in removal from the venue.
  • Can I take photos or videos during the show?
No photography or recording of any kind during the performance are prohibited. However, audiences are encouraged to take photos at our media wall before or after the show and are allowed to take photos of the final curtain call to capture the memorable moments.
  • What should I wear to the show?
Attire is generally smart casual, however many people enjoy embracing the theatre atmosphere by dressing to match the glamour of the show. The choice is yours. Everyone is welcome at a Burlesque show, so please wear whatever makes you most comfortable.
